Mini Sessions Vs. Full Sessions
Perhaps you read my last post and are now wondering whether a mini session is right for your family, or whether you should invest in a full custom session. In this blog post, I hope to walk you though the process a little bit to help understand the features of a mini session and hopefully I will see you for your own session very soon!
1. Shorter Session Time
Mini Sessions run for approximately 25 minutes so are great for children who are slightly more confident as they don’t allow a huge amount of time for us to settle into the session and warm up. Running at a bit of a faster pace,
2. Smaller Gallery
In a full length session, you can expect a well-rounded full gallery of around 70-90 photos. For mini sessions, you can expect around 25-30 images in your gallery. I have some clients that book several mini sessions each year; an excellent way of updating family photos regularly as I know all too well how quickly children change in even just a few months, and others who have booked a mini session as a ‘taster’ before committing to a full session. Whatever the reason, I would love to invite you along to the next lot of mini’s, so do keep an eye out on my social media pages or sign up to my newsletter to be first in line!
3. Less variation: Poses/Outfits/Locations
Due to a few reasons, mini sessions will naturally result in less variation overall in terms of posing, outfits and the location. The smaller timeframe, will mean we simply don’t have loads of time to get as many different kinds of shots as we would in a full session. We will generally stick to one area, rather than my usual way of carrying out a session, moving around and getting a variety of different backgrounds etc.
4. Select dates
I tend to host mini sessions three times a year: early Spring to celebrate Mother’s Day, late summer to capture the warmer months, and late autumn at a Christmas tree farm just in time to make your Christmas cards.
5. Price
The price is understandably a big factor in deciding which session to go for. Please remember that I am always open to payment plans tailored to you.
